Yield Sign

This sign is often found at intersections.

What it means

A yield or give way sign indicates that merging drivers must prepare to stop if necessary in order to let drivers on another approach proceed. A driver who stops or slows down to let another vehicle through has yielded to that vehicle.

Heads Up

  • Unlike stop signs, it's not necessary for drivers to come to a complete stop at a yield sign. If it's safe, they may proceed without stopping.
  • Vehiclescoming from the left (on the roundabout) have priority over those entering the road, which is facing towards a yield sign.
  • You also need to pay attention tobicyclesand pedestrians.
