Merge Sign

This sign is often found ahead of an area where two roads merge.

What it means

Merge signs show that the traffic may be merging into your lane from another roadway. Be prepared to change lanes or allow other traffic to merge into your lane. Merge signs are posted on expressways just before expressway ramps. Drivers entering from the right must yield to traffic on the main route, and must make use of speed-change lanes to merge smoothly and safely into the main traffic flow.

Drivers should be prepared to merge with vehicles on a separate road when seeing the merge sign.This sign will use an arrow to indicate which roadway is merging.Vehicles on the bigger roadway have the right of way but should also be considerate of merging vehicles.
