For over 30 years, Check Ride has trained thousands of students to safely and confidently operate commercial trucks. We take this profession seriously, and our students’ success is the driving force behind every program we offer. Owner Jeff Smith spent more than 18 years conducting CDL skill tests for the Department of Licensing and served on the steering committee that helped develop the agency’s mandatory CDL training standards. Drawing on his background as a professional driver, owner-operator, and heavy-duty mechanic, Jeff understands the real-world demands of the industry and knows exactly which skills new drivers need to thrive. Rather than staying in the background, Jeff remains directly involved with our students, personally overseeing the daily training operations that make our program a proven success.
