Academy of Driving

Academy of Driving, LLC was founded in 2006 by retired Virginia law enforcement officers and is based near downtown Lynchburg, Virginia. We proudly serve the City of Lynchburg and Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell counties. In 2017, Ken Frederick became the sole owner of the school and continues to operate the most comprehensive driving school in Central Virginia. Each year, we have the privilege of providing several hundred students with high-quality driver training, behind-the-wheel instruction, driver improvement clinics, and Virginia driving manual classes. We take pride in these programs and consistently uphold the laws and regulations that govern commercial driving schools. We are licensed and audited annually by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, as required by law. Under Virginia law, licensed professional driving schools are certified to offer classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training for students who are unable or choose not to receive this education through their public or private high schools. Our in-car and classroom instructors are certified Driver Education Instructors by the Virginia Department of Education and licensed by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.
