Overview

Founded in 2004 by five professional police motorcycle officers, Motorcycle Riding Concepts (MRC) began with a mission to deliver Basic, Expert, Advanced, and individual motorcycle training to riders across Northern Virginia.

Since then, we've broadened our curriculum to include the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Basic RiderCourse, Headstart, Seat Time, and the Harley-Davidson Riding Academy New Rider Course.

We continually refine our Signature Series courses—enhancing our Skills Camp, Advanced Skills Course, Individual Skills Course, Seat Time, and Headstart—while also introducing new options. A 2-hour Individual Novice course is now available, and we completed the 2-hour Individual Intermediate Course in summer 2013. These personalized sessions have become especially popular, with steadily growing enrollment.

Our expert instructor team has grown to include more professional police motorcycle officers, MSF-certified RiderCoaches, and Harley-Davidson Riding Academy certified instructors.

MRC is committed to motorcycle safety and delivering the expert training riders across Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and nearby areas expect and deserve.

Guided by our mantra, “Passionate and committed to riding excellence!”, we’re here to help you…

  • Basic RiderCourse

This course is specifically designed for the novice/beginner rider. Basic Rider Course Students learn about components and controls of a motorcycle, riding gear and preparing for the ride. The risk of riding and managing that risk are studied in depth to better prepare the student for "real life" riding. Strategies are investigated that will prepare each student for riding on the street in traffic. Whether you want to learn to ride for pleasure or basic low-cost transportation or both, this course is perfect for you. Take a look at our BRC Highlight Reel to get a feel for the course. Many students are returning riders. They rode a motorcycle in their youth, but haven't ridden in years. This is a perfect reintroduction to riding. Experienced riders can break bad habits and gain new skills. Graduating students receive a Motorcycle Safety Foundation completion certificate and a Virginia Class "M2" endorsement (motorcycle license). Here's some more information about obtaining your Class "M2" endorsement in Virginia and Washington, DC. We offer both weekday and weekend classes throughout the year. Class sizes are typically 10 - 12 students facilitated by two professional RiderCoaches. Are you not sure if motorcycle riding is for you? Do you want some advance preparation for the Basic RiderCourse? Then check out our Headstart course.
