Overview

Alamo Driving School founder Eddie “Skip” Gibson called Anchorage, Alaska home for 25 years. After 28 years of military service, he was honorably discharged and became a Driving Safety instructor with the U.S. Postal Service. As Alaska District DSI, he spent 15 years meeting the driver training needs of every postal facility across the state, teaching new postal employees the fundamentals and techniques of safely operating various postal vehicles. Now Mr. Gibson is passing it forward, combining his military discipline and Postal Service background to help new drivers in our community become safer behind the wheel. In his words, “Our goal is to make a difference in our students’ driving experience by impressing upon them the seriousness of becoming a defensive driver.” Alamo Driving School’s Safe Driving Philosophy teaches students to stay focused and master proper driving techniques. These lessons give new drivers a stronger understanding of our roadways. Many people don’t realize that motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death and injury for new drivers ages 18–24. If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. Let’s agree: quality driver education is a good thing for everyone.
