Overview
Benavides Driving School is a family-owned and operated business, licensed and bonded by the state of Texas. All our courses are approved by the Texas Education Agency, Department of Public Safety, and TCADA. Since opening in April 1975, our founder and owner, the late Pedro “Pete” Benavides, began as the sole driving instructor with a single classroom instructor and one vehicle. Pete was committed to being the best: no matter how challenging it was to teach a student to drive or the rules of the road, he never gave up until they achieved their goal—earning their license. He took great pride in seeing the joy on students’ faces when they passed their written or driving test. Over 42 years later, we still carry forward his belief that patience and encouragement can help anyone learn to drive at B.D.S. We continue to produce safe, responsible drivers through our teen, adult, and defensive driving courses.
