Stonepoint Driving School

Miss Stone is a Houston native and has been a certified instructor with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) since 2003. She now calls Lago Vista home, where she loves the small-town charm and scenic surroundings. She holds a BBA in Business Administration with a minor in Secondary Education from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. A lifelong educator, she carries a lifetime state certification as a Business Teacher and is also certified for grades K–8. During college, she played basketball on scholarship—two seasons at MSU and two at North Central Texas College in Gainesville—and competed in volleyball and softball for one season each at MSU. Her teaching credentials have grown steadily over the years. In 2004, she earned certification at Texas A&M University to teach the Drug & Alcohol Driving Awareness Program. She became TDLR-certified to teach Defensive Driving (commonly called the Ticket Dismissal Class) in 2011, and in 2012 she achieved the TDLR Supervisor Trainer endorsement. That endorsement allowed her to train future Driver’s Ed instructors, and two of her students have since opened their own schools. Miss Stone has also completed motorcycle safety training and holds a Class M motorcycle license. TDLR and the Texas Education Agency require all instructors to undergo fingerprinting and background checks, and she fully complies with both. Before opening her own school in 2017, she taught at Gulf Coast, SafeWay, and Stay Safe Driving Schools in the Greater Houston area, as well as Lake Travis Driving and Texas Friendly in the Greater Austin area.
