Overview

At Driveway Austin, you won’t find initiation fees or monthly dues—just a training and development center where you earn access to our precision-engineered Grand Prix circuit by completing the Foundations of Road Racing course. Our signature programs bring drivers of all skill levels to the peak of their abilities. We’re proud that every class is taught exclusively by professional race drivers, delivering world-class instruction. The Foundations course certifies you to practice on L1, an eight-corner replica of the Ferrari Fiorano test track. Step up to the Advanced Road Racing class, and you’ll be certified for L2 and L3, which feature a long straightaway and a corkscrew-style elevation change. We encourage you to bring your own car—it simply needs to be street legal or trailered in and have a muffler. Roll bars aren’t required, and loaner helmets are available.

  • Foundations of Road Racing

    The Foundations of Road Racing course covers the core dynamic elements of high performance driving. The modules of the course are strategically progressive throughout the day to. The majority of the program is done “on track” so each driver experiences every technique first hand, behind the wheel. Rules, Safety and Etiquette are also taught throughout the course. Drivers may use their own car in this course or one of Driveway Austin’s race prepared (Spec Miata) school cars for an additional fee. Personal cars must pass a technical inspection before going on track.

  • Advanced Road Racing

    This comprehensive course covers the advanced driving elements of elevation change and high speed dynamics. Armed with a mastery of weight transfer techniques and control from the Foundations of Road Racing course, Advanced Road Racing drivers learn “Z” axis and high calibre racing techniques to significantly enhance their skill set. The modules of the course are once again strategically progressive throughout the day, which is broken into segments including Off Camber, Blind Corner, Extreme Elevation, Lateral Stabilization, Driver Perception and Modified Vehicle Dynamics. Over 70% of the course is completed on track.

  • Regular Alumni Practice

    Alumni of our classes (exclusively) can drive the track during our published "Open Practices"(usually Wed-Sat 12-1) as well as other times as the calendar allows. Prices vary based on the course being used and the duration of the practice session.

  • Teen Xtreme Driving Class

    This course covers the core dynamic elements of car control, accident avoidance, driving focus and precision driving. The modules of the course are strategically progressive throughout the day, which includes both classroom time and approximately 50 miles behind the wheel on our private training track. A lot of Students emerge as significantly more confident, accomplished and SAFER drivers.. Drivers should use their own car for the on-road section of the course. All cars must pass a technical inspection before going on track. Drivers under the age of 18 must have a signed Parental Waiver release form. Parents are invited to attend... in the background. Minimum age of 15 with learners permit.
