Drive-Rite Driving School

Founded in 1943 as Safeway Driving School, we’ve been teaching new drivers right here in Knoxville for generations. In the early 1980s, we launched classroom programs under the Drive-Rite name, expanding our reach with safe driving instruction for everyone from beginners to professional drivers across East Tennessee. A few of the organizations we’ve partnered with include the University of Tennessee Department of Logistics, Knox County Schools, Union County Schools, Hiwassee Mental Health, Terminx, Russell’s Pest Control, the Tennessee Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Maryville Christian School, Greenville Seven Day Adventist Academy, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Methodist Medical Center. As customers increasingly recognized us as Drive-Rite, we made it our overall brand. By blending Safeway’s heritage with Drive-Rite’s forward-looking approach, we’ve become the premier driving school in East Tennessee.
