Our mission is to help employers, workers, families, and communities prevent unintentional injuries—what we often call accidents. These injuries are the leading cause of death for South Dakotans between the ages of 1 and 39, taking nearly 500 lives each year, disabling many more, and sending tens of thousands to emergency departments and hospitals.
