Overview

With more than 40 years of experience, Rusty Hires launched his first driving school in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1968 before opening his first South Carolina location in Moncks Corner in 1987. “I love cars. I love people. I hate accidents,” he shared with The Post and Courier. In addition to running the school, Rusty serves as co-chair of the Summerville Mayor’s Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities. Today, Rusty’s Driving School is one of the few state-certified programs in South Carolina specially trained to teach drivers with special needs.

  • Driver's Education Basic Package

    This excellent program consists of 8 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. This program is for students between the ages of 15 and 24. No permit needed licensed or unlicensed!

  • Driver's Education Advanced Package

    Includes LICENSE TEST and all instruction and training in BASIC PACKAGE for students between the ages of 15 and 24. No permit needed licensed or unlicensed!

  • Driver's Education Premium Package

    Everything in the ADVANCED PACKAGE plus (2) two extra one-on-one behind the wheel lessons for students between the ages of 15 and 24. No permit needed licensed or unlicensed!

  • Defensive Driving Courses | A Four-Point Reduction Driver Improvement Program

    This is an 8 hour course. The student will learn techniques used by professional drivers that could save your life. Four points reduced from your South Carolina driving record…only once every 3 years. Defensive driving courses benefits all drivers…beginners or experienced.
