Under the Lights Driver Training LLC is owned and operated by Scott Phelps, a South Carolina DMV-certified instructor who teaches and tests drivers as they work toward their license. With over 20 years of experience as a special education teacher, Scott brings a patient, understanding approach to every lesson. Our goal is to provide an engaging, hands-on driver training experience that truly prepares students for the road ahead. As parents ourselves, we know how important it is to raise independent, knowledgeable, and cautious drivers—young people who understand the serious responsibility that comes with the privilege to drive. We hold every student to the same high standard we would expect for our own children before they get behind the wheel. Our course is innovative and exciting, placing students in real-life situations so they are fully prepared for whatever driving experiences come next. Teen/Beginner Course (Ages 15–16) — $375 - 8 hours of classroom education - 6 hours of individual behind-the-wheel training - South Carolina DMV Road Test Preparation - South Carolina DMV Road Test (we are a certified third-party tester) - Certificate of Completion that helps students qualify for a monthly insurance discount Adult Course (Ages 17+) with 2 Hours of Training — $150 - 2 hours of individual behind-the-wheel training - South Carolina DMV Road Test Preparation - South Carolina DMV Road Test (administered by Under the Lights) Adult Course (Ages 17+) with 1 Hour of Training — $100 - 1 hour of individual behind-the-wheel training - South Carolina DMV Road Test Preparation - South Carolina DMV Road Test (administered by Under the Lights) Additional Behind-the-Wheel Training — $50 per hour (For students who have already taken one of our courses) South Carolina DMV Road Test Only — $50
