After witnessing the incredible skills police officers gain from motor school, we started looking into what motorcycle training was available for civilian riders. We were surprised to find very few options. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation does an excellent job with beginner basics and intermediate refreshers—but nothing bridged the gap to the advanced techniques taught in police programs. These aren't secret maneuvers; sharing them doesn't compromise officer safety. They simply hadn't made it into any civilian class. We saw a real opportunity to change that. We reached out to dozens of police motor officers and instructors, and the response was overwhelming: create a civilian course truly modeled on police motorcycle drills and methods—covering not only precise low-speed work, but also crash-avoidance street skills. Working closely with fellow motor officer instructors, we built a challenging, fun, and rewarding 8‑hour class for experienced riders ready to take their abilities further. Our course bundles the Advanced Riders Course, Precision and Control Course, and Defensive Riding Course. We launched our first classes at training sites in Philadelphia, PA, and Chattanooga, TN, in the fall of 2013, and we've since expanded to 84 locations nationwide—with more on the way.
