  • New Drivers

Ressler’s Driving Academy caters to drivers of varying abilities in most counties in southwestern Pennsylvania. During our sessions, we can pick you up and drop you off at your home for a more hassle-free experience. Beginner drivers need a Pennsylvania learner’s permit before drivers training begins. State law now requires all drivers aged 16 and 17 to practice driving for six months with a learner’s permit. The law also requires a minimum of 65 total supervised hours of driving practice before taking the Pennsylvania driving test. Students with a Pennsylvania learner’s permit must always be accompanied by a licensed driver who is 21 years old or older (if spouse, parent or guardian this age is reduced to 18). However, driving with a learner’s permit is limited within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, so make sure not to practice driving out of the state.

  • Adaptive Driving Program for Persons With Disabilities

Ressler’s Driving Academy offers a driver rehabilitation program. We serve any person of driving age who has a physical or cognitive disability that may affect their driving ability. Both beginner and experienced drivers who were involved in an accident or had a life-changing event may enroll in our program to be evaluated and/or receive driver’s training. RDA can evaluate you or train you if you are willing to learn and have a desire to be an independent driver. You must be able to ambulate to the training vehicle, with or without adaptive assistance, or use a manual wheelchair and transfer from the manual wheelchair to the driver’s seat.

  • Driver Rehabilitation

RDA’s medical form needs completed by your physician. Driving evaluation (2-3 hours at your home). Driver’s Training (if needed). Take driving test at local DMV. Prescription for adaptive driving equipment (if needed). Get adaptive equipment in your vehicle (if needed)

  • Online Driver’s Education Course

RDA now also offers a new online driver’s education course through “Virtual Drive,” which is equivalent to 30 classroom hours. This program has a fee of $49
