General Auto Driving School
Training families since 1965
Overview
Help your teenager build safe, confident driving habits with expert instruction from General Auto Driving School. Based in Dumont, we specialize in behind-the-wheel training for teens preparing for their permits, but we welcome eligible learners of all ages. We guide you through the permit process and offer highway practice, defensive driving strategies, and road test preparation. We also partner closely with parents to ensure that practice at home reinforces our lessons. Proudly serving the Bergen County area since 1965, we look forward to helping more safe and responsible drivers get on the road.

Permit Course
The law requires students to be at least 16 years of age to drive in New Jersey. At General Auto Driving School we will help students with a multiple choice test that is provided by their school. A licensed driving school must then purchase the permit. Students will also have to pass an eye test prior to beginning their behind-the-wheel training.
