Fair Lawn Driving School

Fair Lawn Driving School was established in 1959 by Joseph Lomonico, former Director of Driver Education at Fair Lawn High School. Joseph brought his classroom experience to the road, teaching students to become safe and competent drivers. His son Neil, a licensed driving instructor since 1979 and a New Jersey law enforcement officer, later took over the school. Neil combined his knowledge of traffic safety with his father’s passion and expertise in teaching. In February 2022, Nick and Kristen Nobre took over Fair Lawn Driving School from the Lomonico family. Neil had mentored Nick from a young age, so the transition felt like keeping it in the family. Nick followed Neil’s path, becoming a New Jersey law enforcement officer and eventually a certified driving instructor. Nick learned a great deal from Neil about the school’s teaching methods and best practices, which made for a smooth transition.
