Meet Abel Zamora, a highly respected taxi instructor in New York City. As a medallion owner with over 20 years of experience driving a yellow cab, Abel brings real-world expertise directly into the classroom. His deep familiarity with NYC’s streets and traffic patterns gives students a practical advantage in both navigation and daily operations. For more than 22 years, Abel has taught the NYC TLC Taxi Program in English and Spanish, including 17 years with Hanac Taxi Academy. He currently teaches the TLC 24-hour course at the Kingsborough Community College Taxi Institute in Brooklyn.

  • 24 HOUR TAXI TRAINING (3-DAY COURSE)

    This 3-DAY course trains in the following areas in preparation of the NYC TLC Driver's License Exam ​ TLC Rules & Regulations, Driving Skill & Traffic Rules, Geography - Popular NYC Landmarks & Map Comprehension, and Customer Service.

  • TLC TEST

    Now that you've completed the 24 hour program. It's time to take the test. Take the TLC License exam at a TLC approved test site facility. The fee must be paid by money order only. This exam is to obtain your license to operate medallion, street hail livery and for hire vehicles. FREE ON SITE PARKING. Test available in Spanish.

  • WAV CLASS

    All NYC TLC driver license applicants must complete a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) class. The WAV class demonstrates how to safely and properly transport a passenger in a wheelchair.​ FREE ON-SITE PARKING AVAILABLE.
