Stevens Advanced Driver Training

Since 1996, our Skid School Driver Skills Development Program has prepared young drivers for the unexpected. Launched in partnership with Cooperative Insurance in Middlebury, Vermont, the program is rooted in the same emergency skills training we delivered for 30 years at the Vermont Police Academy. Our goal was twofold: to give newly licensed drivers the confidence and ability to handle real-world emergencies—like a deer in the road or a vehicle running a stop sign—from the moment they start driving, and to foster the mature judgment and decision-making that define safe, experienced drivers.
