  • Basic Training

    Central States Safety & Driver Training offer a CDL Basic Training course for the individual that needs help passing the written CLP Test administered by the DMV. This training course covers all of the topic area in the Nebraska Commercial Drivers License Manual. It is an 8 hour instructor delivered course that goes through each topic in the Commercial Drivers License Manual in detail. It is presented in a manor to allow for questions and discussions using PowerPoint slides and videos. Central States Safety & Driver Training will provide a truck and trailer to give hands on demonstration of pre-trip inspection. Central States Safety & Driver Training instructors will travel to your location to present the class if there is enough people interested at your location. Call for more information. Classes in Kearney will be held on an as needed basis with at least one class per month.

  • Professional CDL Training

    Central States Safety & Driver Training’s Professional CDL Training Program meets and exceeds the requirements set forth in the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR) for Entry-Level Driver Training as required by 49 CFR 380.503. The Professional CDL Training Program also follows standards set by the Professional Truck Drivers Institute(PTDI) These standards set requirements for classroom, lab and behind-the-wheel driving times. Classroom instruction focuses on fundamental basics needed to become a professional driver. Topics range from basic vehicle operation to whistle blower protections. Labs are hands on training for the driver enabling them to conduct a proper pre-trip, en-route, and post trip (DVIR) inspections, proper hooking and unhooking procedures, sliding of tandems and fifth wheels.Behind-the-wheel training is just that. Driver trainees will learn how to maneuver a tractor-trailer around tight corners, make proper lane changes, and drive in traffic. They also will learn and become proficient in backing and docking. At the end of this training, Central States Safety and Driver Training will administer the necessary CDL Skills tests for the driver trainee to get their CDL License. A major part of all instruction within this program deals with safety and professionalism of the driver.
