Mississippi Safety Services

Everyone is welcome—whether you want to build safe driving habits, avoid future tickets, lower your insurance rates, or prevent costly accidents. Mississippi Safety Services is the state’s authorized provider of National Safety Council driver safety courses. Since 1986, we’ve earned frequent NSC honors, including Best Performance and Trend Setter awards. Our lead instructor is a Certified Safety Professional and safety engineer who edited two editions of the Council’s Motor Fleet Safety Manual. Our executive director is a leading traffic safety advocate in Mississippi; in 2012, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety recognized her with a statewide award. She has held the chairmanship and other leadership roles with the Mississippi Association of Highway Safety Leaders and the National Association of Women Highway Safety Leaders. We run community safety programs focused on preventing brain and spinal cord injuries. Ollie Otter, a life-sized mascot, visits early elementary students, while BuckleBear, a lap puppet, teaches preschool children to buckle up. Our defensive driving instructors come from law enforcement, education, and training backgrounds. Every staff member lives our mission: Dedicated to Saving Lives.
