In the fall of 2008, we set out to build a stronger driver education program for teens and adults. It’s alarming that driver’s ed has barely changed in 20 years—this isn’t just a box to check anymore. A solid grasp of driving technique, traction laws, and the rules and responsibilities of the road is essential to lowering risk. We choose the best camps, schools, and colleges for our children because we want them to get the most from those experiences. The same care should go into choosing where they learn to drive—the quality of that education directly shapes how safe they’ll be behind the wheel. Success on the road means they come home every night safe and sound.
