  • On-Site Permit Test

Students who have successfully completed 30 classroom hours and assignments, and have enrolled in an approved behind-the-wheel program, will be able to take the state permit test.

  • Point of Impact Meetings

The more you know about teen driver risks, laws and helpful ways to talk to your teen, the more you can help your student become a safe driver. Parents and students are invited and encouraged to attend a 90-minute class. Learn how to improve your own driving instruction and help your teen to become a better driver. Find out about the new rules for first-time drivers. New drivers have to log 50 hours of driving while they have their permit. Find out how to do this and reduce the required amount by 10 hours by attending a Shakopee Community Education Point of Impact (POI) meeting. Parents/guardians are encouraged to provide as many additional hours with their teens as possible to prepare them to become a safe driver.
