Drivers Advantage

The Drivers Advantage is a licensed, bonded, and insured driver education provider, meeting all Michigan State Law requirements. Our instructors hold up-to-date licenses and complete biannual certifications. Safety is at the heart of everything we do. While many traditional driving schools focus mainly on basic vehicle control and traffic rules, we take a different approach: we build safe, lifelong driving skills. That commitment begins in our Drivers Education course, where students learn critical skills like hazard recognition, hazard response, and risk management techniques that directly support safer driving. Every behind-the-wheel session includes an individual evaluation of each student’s progress and performance. We believe strong communication between the student driver and their parent is essential. We actively encourage parents to stay involved and track how their son or daughter is building driving skills. Our instructors meet with parents and recommend training exercises tailored to the new driver’s needs. All Segment 1 students complete a final drive evaluation, with scoring in 10 distinct areas. That evaluation highlights the new driver’s strengths and pinpoints areas for improvement—it’s also a great tool to help parents coach their new driver effectively. Our commitment to safety extends into our advanced courses. In our Traffic School seminar, students assess their own level of risk on the road through a self-awareness workshop, then discover practical strategies for developing defensive driving habits. They explore topics like safe vehicle operation, space management, speed management, crash awareness, understanding vehicle dynamics, and staying current with new traffic laws.
