Overview
Virginia Driver Improvement Academy (VDIA) offers a DMV-approved driver improvement course in Prince William County. Our program draws on the latest driver education data and time-tested safe driving practices. Developed by a national leader in traffic safety education, the course covers the most current defensive driving techniques, collision avoidance strategies, and the dangers of alcohol and drugs. The aim is to equip you with essential knowledge and risk management tools to become a safe, effective driver. This course also meets the 8-hour traffic school requirement for most Virginia traffic violations.
In the classroom, we use videos, interactive exercises, and group discussion to make the experience both educational and enjoyable. If you prefer an online course, please note that Virginia regulations require all students to complete the final exam in person at an approved testing center—even for online classes.
Important: If you are under 20 years of age or hold a Virginia Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) license, you are not eligible for an online course. You must attend an in-person class at a Virginia classroom location.
