Driving with Matthew

Luz E. Cruz is the Owner and Head Instructor at La Escuelita DIP. With over 20 years of experience teaching Behind the Wheel and Driver’s Education, plus eight years as a Probation Officer for ASAP, Luz brings a wealth of expertise to the classroom. She is a determined, motivated leader who genuinely wants to help others succeed. We are proud to work alongside such a humble and warm-hearted instructor.

Matthew Abregu leads the "Driving with Matthew" program, which partners with Douglas High School’s Center for Alternative Education and the Mobile Hope nonprofit. Together, they help teens overcome significant obstacles, including earning their driver’s license. Matthew has spent two years teaching with La Escuelita DIP and is a former professional boxer who remains deeply passionate about the sport. Angie Abregu recently joined our team, bringing a decade of teaching experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and previously served as Assistant Director at The Goddard School. As a proud mother of two, Angie brings patience and dedication to every lesson. We are honored to welcome her to La Escuelita DIP.
