First Class Driving School

We don’t just teach your teen to drive. Our goal is to build life-saving habits that last a lifetime. A teen’s driver training can shape the rest of their life, so we take our time with every student. You’ll find our program is truly one of a kind — and, as our name says, First Class. First Class Driving School is the oldest and most respected driving school in the Ark‑La‑Tex. Owners and Certified Trainers Jill and Bud Chauncy have been making Shreveport‑Bossier streets safer since 1993. Both local and national media regularly turn to them for expert insight on traffic safety. Jill and Bud, together with our entire team, are deeply involved in community efforts that reduce young driver crashes, underage drinking, passenger and railroad risks, teen court, MADD, and many other safety advocacy groups. Both are Master Trainers who teach driving instructors at the local, state, and national levels. Mr. Bud is currently serving his ninth term as President of the Driving School Association of Louisiana, after two terms as President of the National Trade Association. Ms. Jill serves as Treasurer for the Driving School Association of the Americas. When the DMV needed help creating the Road Skills Test for driving schools, they called First Class. When they wanted the Louisiana Driver’s Guide reviewed, they called us. When they required continuing education for instructors statewide, they asked us to train the trainers. Mr. Chauncy has been an Expert Consultant for the Federal Government in developing National Standards for Driver Education, helped shape Louisiana’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan to reduce fatalities, and has testified as an expert witness in local courts. Our mission is to give every student a foundation of knowledge and skill that turns them into a proactive, collision‑avoiding driver. In the classroom and behind the wheel, we stress the serious responsibility of driving and the need to drive safer and smarter.
