Road Scholars: Institute of Driving is a family-owned driving academy based in Walker, Louisiana. We focus on delivering thorough, high-quality driver education rather than high-volume classes, helping new drivers prepare for their learner’s permits and driver’s licenses. We proudly serve students across Ascension Parish (Dutchown, Galvez, Geismar, Gonzales, Prairieville, Saint Amant), East Baton Rouge Parish (Baker, Baton Rouge, Central City, Zachary), Livingston Parish (Denham Springs, French Settlement, Holden, Killian, Livingston, Port Vincent, Satsuma, Springfield, Watson), and Tangipahoa Parish (Amite City, Hammond, Independence, Ponchatoula, Roseland, Tickfaw). Our mission is to educate, inform, and prepare drivers for a lifetime of safe and confident driving. We combine current research with proven teaching methods to ensure every student truly understands the responsibilities of getting behind the wheel. Safety is our top priority. We are committed to educating our students, their families, and future generations about the real risks involved in operating a vehicle. Our instructors are deeply passionate about creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. We firmly believe that the most important safety feature in any car is not the airbag, anti-lock brakes, or seatbelts—it is the driver. By treating our driving responsibilities seriously, we can work together to create safer roads for everyone. Road Scholars: Institute of Driving is fully approved, certified, and licensed by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections, Office of Motor Vehicles, and the State of Louisiana. Our academy was founded after our family experienced the tragic loss of two immediate members to drunk and reckless driving. Following that second devastating loss, we made it our mission to ensure every student receives comprehensive driver education. We also aim to spread vital safety awareness to help other families avoid similar tragedies. Together, we are dedicated to shaping responsible drivers and protecting our roads for the future.
