Overview

At Drive Home Safe Driving School, owner Dennis Harper brings three decades of law enforcement experience to every lesson. A retired police officer, Dennis spent 25 years teaching the Emergency Vehicle Operators Course: Train the Trainer program for the Illinois Police Training Board. As a Traffic Accident Reconstruction Specialist and detective, he investigated everything from minor collisions to serious criminal cases. He is also a seasoned traffic law educator and experienced public speaker. Now an Illinois-licensed driver education instructor, Dennis teaches defensive driving to teens and adults in Geneva and Oswego. His career has always centered on a single mission: preventing accidents, reducing injuries, and saving lives.

  • The Silver Star (Complete Basic Course)

    The Silver Star package consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction, 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, and 6 hours of in-car observation. The classroom instruction will be given in 15 two-hour sessions during a minimum period of four weeks, with no more than one session daily. The behind-the-wheel portion generally groups two students for two hours of in-car instruction. Each student spends one hour driving and the other observing. ALL DRIVES will be picked up and dropped off at the Driving School.

  • The Gold Star (Complete Course)

    The Gold Star package consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. The classroom instruction will be given in 15 two-hour sessions during a minimum period of four weeks with no more than one session daily. The behind-the-wheel portion will generally be administered in eight sessions with 1 or 1.5 hour lessons. Students will receive one-on-one instruction and must obtain written permission from their parents. Free pick up and drop off for BTW sessions.

  • The Platinum Star (Complete Course)

    The Platinum Star package consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. The classroom instruction will be given in 15 two-hour sessions during a minimum period of four weeks with no more than one session daily. The behind-the-wheel portion will generally be administered in ten sessions with 1 or 1.5 hour lessons. Students will receive one-on-one instruction and must obtain written permission from their parents. Free pick up and drop off for BTW sessions.

  • Adult Classroom-Only Option

    Adult Classroom Option- This course is for adults only between ages 18 and 20 years of age. This course comes with 6 hours of Classroom only.Adulto Aula Opción- Este curso es sólo para adultos entre las edades de 18 y 20 años de edad. Este curso viene con 6 horas de clase única .
