A Certified State DOT Drivers Ed Instructor since February 2017, Melissa Faufata brings more than 35 years of driving experience to every lesson. She specializes in calming behind-the-wheel nerves by teaching courteous, confident driving habits. Patient and dedicated, Melissa enjoys sharing her expertise with teens and adults, equipping them with the practical skills they need to stay safe on the road.

Teen Drivers: Each student must successfully complete 30 hours of
students will make arrangements with each individual instructor.In addition to the 6 hours of Behind the Wheel instruction with a Certified Instructor each student must have at least 50 hours of supervised driving with a licensed driver over the age of twenty-one, 10 of which must have been night driving.Parent/guardian must submit a Notarized “Supervised Driving Log” Affidavit verifying the student completed the 50 hours of supervised driving with a licensed driver over the age of twenty-one 10 of which must have been night driving. The completed Notarized Affidavit must be submitted to and will be retained by instructor.

Adult Drivers - Classroom Instruction
First time adult drivers are strongly encouraged to complete this condensed 3 hour video based classroom instruction before taking Behind the Wheel instruction. This classroom instruction covers the basic rules of the road and driving skills, and will give the first time adult driver the knowledge and skills needed to drive with confidence.

Behind the Wheel (BTW) Instruction
First time adult drivers are strongly encouraged to complete at least 6 hours of Behind the Wheel instruction so they can experience different driving scenarios/situations with an instructor present so they can advise them of the best reaction to those scenarios/situations.
