Overview

At Taggart’s Driving School, we believe great instructors make great drivers. That’s why we select our team carefully, starting with an in-depth interview. Once accepted, every instructor completes three weeks of intensive classroom and field training. They master modern teaching methods, traffic laws, rules of the road, and defensive driving techniques before they ever get behind the wheel with a student. After training, each instructor must pass a rigorous exam administered by the Georgia Department of Driver Services. The Department also performs a thorough background check, including fingerprinting and photo submission to the GBI and FBI. And we require every instructor to have and maintain a spotless driving record. We’re committed to consistent, high-quality instruction. That’s why Taggart’s is the only driving school in the country with a library of training videos—one for each of our approximately 20 lessons. Instructors learn from these videos during onboarding and refer back to them to stay aligned with our proven methods and standards. We look for people of sound judgment, strong character, and a genuine enjoyment of working with others. Our careful selection process means you’ll learn from a patient, knowledgeable professional who is truly invested in your success. Our training vehicles are thoughtfully designed to help you learn faster and with less stress. They feature the exclusive Taggart’s dual-control system: two steering wheels, two brake pedals, and two gas pedals. This setup allows your instructor to demonstrate maneuvers seamlessly, so you grasp concepts more quickly and need fewer lessons to become a confident, defensive driver. Your safety matters to us. Every student is covered by a primary $1,000,000 automobile liability policy, backed by an additional $2,000,000 umbrella policy. You’ll also notice our cars are topped with distinctive safety signs, custom-made for our school. They give other drivers a clear heads-up when you’re slowing, stopping, or changing lanes—turning impatience into understanding and making the road a friendlier place while you learn. All Taggart’s Driving Schools are licensed by the Georgia Department of Driver Services. We offer the six-hour Driver Improvement Program, assessments, the 20-hour class program, and scheduling for clinical evaluations required by DUI/Drug Risk Reduction Programs.
