Overview

The Broward-Dade Safety Council grew from the non-profit Broward County Commission on Alcoholism, founded in 1969. It later became Florida’s first DUI program, and in the 1980s and 1990s it operated as the Broward Court Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program. After adding traffic courses in the 1990s, it took on its current name. Today, we offer a complete range of DUI programs, substance abuse evaluations and education, and a variety of traffic courses, including: - State of Florida-approved DUI School in Broward County for Level I and Level II - Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Driver Improvement Courses (4, 8, and 12 hours) for traffic offenses - Aggressive Driving Classes - Drug, Alcohol and Traffic Education course, required for all first-time drivers in Florida - Prevention Through Education course for court-ordered marijuana and other drug offenders - Victim Impact Panel for DUI offenders - Online education program for drugs, offered by 3rd Millennium Classrooms through the Broward-Dade Safety Council
