Every training vehicle in our fleet is equipped with an instructor brake for safety, which naturally helps prevent collisions. However, its most important purpose is instruction. Our instructors are specifically trained to use the brake as a teaching tool, demonstrating exactly when and how to apply pressure to maintain proper vehicle control. Learning the right braking technique for turns, stopping distances, and speed management is a vital skill for every new driver. Unfortunately, this instructional approach is not standard across the industry. Many driver education programs do not train their staff to use the dual brake effectively as a teaching aid. As a result, instructors often require students to already have driving experience before beginning their mandatory six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. We ensure our instructors receive specialized training so they can safely and confidently teach proper braking and control to students from day one.
