Our founder and lead instructor, Walter Branch, brings more than 17 years of teaching experience to every session. Over his career, he has logged over 2 million training miles and 50,000 hours in the passenger seat with a flawless record: zero accidents and no traffic citations. The oldest of eleven children, Walter helped raise his younger siblings and later devoted years to mentoring young people who needed steady guidance. Grounded by his Christian faith and quiet humility, he consistently leads by example. For more than 15 years, he maintained a perfect attendance record and routinely stepped in to support his colleagues. He has patiently taught students ages 15 to 99, always focusing on safety, defensive driving, and personal responsibility. Local media have recognized his contributions, and his peers describe him as a coach who brings out the best in his students. Walter also developed a specialized training tool that captures essential driving techniques, which is now used by instructors across the country. In 2000, the Driving School Association of California honored him with its very first Instructor of the Year Award.
