Overview
I Drive Smart was founded in 2004 by a veteran police officer with more than 25 years of law enforcement experience.
We began in Maryland with five cars and 12 part-time instructors. Today, our team has grown to over 140 instructors and a fleet of highly visible yellow training vehicles. Thousands of students across Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and California are proud I Drive Smart graduates.
We believe that teaching and mentoring new drivers is a shared responsibility—a partnership between parents, their community, and I Drive Smart.
