Overview

Not Rocket Science If you can ride a bicycle, there’s a very good chance you’ll pick up motorcycling. We make it easy — so easy, in fact, that we back it with a “results or you don’t pay” guarantee and a near-100% success rate. Our instructions are clear and simple, and we explain every control in beginner-friendly, non-technical language. You’ll see results surprisingly quickly, learn at your own pace, and have a lot of fun along the way. $100 for a 2‑hour session — motorcycle, helmet, and fuel included. All sessions are one‑on‑one private instruction. Pay as you go. You’ll work with relaxed, friendly instructors who have been riding for decades and genuinely love what they do. Sessions are 2 hours, available 7 days a week. Need to take the DMV test for your M1 license? No problem. We’ll guide you through the process, join you at the DMV, and rent you one of our scooters or motorcycles for the test. Need extra practice time? Rent one of our motorcycles or scooters — our rates are the lowest around. In short, we cover everything you need and want to know about motorcycle and scooter instruction. You won’t be disappointed. Most of our students are amazed by how quickly they gain confidence and control, typically in about 4 to 5 hours or less. We do not issue a DMV certificate or license. The state-certified course awards a certificate, but it’s a 15‑hour program taught in groups of six students per instructor. We have enormous respect for those instructors — they’re some of the most dedicated people we’ve met. Yet even with all that dedication, there’s only so much they can communicate effectively in a group setting. The state also requires that every aspect of motorcycling be covered, which makes the course extremely time‑sensitive and, for an absolute beginner, overwhelming. Most students in those classes already have some riding experience, so they roll along — but if you fall behind, you rarely get the individual help you need. We provide private 1‑on‑1 motorcycle lessons. We keep it simple and make sure you understand the what, why, and how of every step and skill. Sometimes you pick things up quickly, sometimes you don’t — and that’s perfectly fine. We simply adjust the training technique to suit you. There’s no performance anxiety, and gentle mistakes are not only allowed but encouraged, because they show you exactly what not to do. Nearly half of our students have already taken the state course and come to us for more clarity and practice. That’s a smart move, because licensed doesn’t always mean experienced. The even smarter ones come to us before the course. That way, you step into the group class with far more confidence and can better absorb the many topics they cover. We teach you only two things: how to stop and how to turn. (Okay, we also emphasize slow‑speed riding, slow‑speed turns, using both brakes, fluid gear changes, being in the correct gear, higher‑speed braking, uphill starts, and riding with a relaxed posture.) We firmly believe you can’t learn a complex skill if you’re not comfortable. We’re not drill sergeants, and we won’t bore you with a lecture. We’re here to have fun too, and to make sure you enjoy the experience. We can help you get a full motorcycle license. Our training is designed to give you complete control. The California DMV motorcycle skills test measures your ability to balance, control your speed, and change direction all at once. In our strong opinion, every motorcyclist should be able to pass this test with ease — even if you’ve already completed the course. If you can’t, you have limited control over your motorcycle. Now, please understand: this test is not easy. It takes a certain amount of training and practice. But the time you invest makes you a better rider. There’s no quick, effortless shortcut here. Motorcycling may be the most dangerous activity you’ll ever undertake. It’s also more complex than driving a car — there are more controls, and you need balance, strength, and coordination. Ask yourself: How long did it take you to learn to drive? Well, riding a motorcycle is harder. And did you learn to drive in a group? The “One Drum” Training System Motorcycling is “too many things at the same time” — and that’s exactly how we don’t teach it. We introduce one thing, one control at a time. So instead of hearing “do this, then this, add this, but don’t do that,” you’ll hear phrases like, “The only thing you will do is…” or “We’ll repeat the same thing, and then we’ll add this.” We’ve built a unique training system where we isolate each control. That way you truly understand the purpose of each one and how it fits into the whole routine. We call it the One Drum Training System. We teach you a single drum beat, let you practice and perfect it, then add another, and another, until you’re making music. Yes, you read that right. What we do is completely different from other schools. If we don’t see results, we evolve. We’ve been doing this long enough to know exactly what to do, what not to do, and when to change things up. You pay after the session, not before. If you’re not satisfied, you don’t pay. Simple. Isn’t that what they call a win‑win? Look Ma, I’m in third gear Your mother would be happier if you could come to a stop quicker — every time. We can get you into second or third gear within an hour, sometimes even faster. But the real skill is achieving a guaranteed, confident stop every single time. We build from a slow start to a slow stop, then on to slow‑speed maneuvers, and only then to turning quicker and leaning more. We ask you to go faster only when you’re fully in control at a given speed. There’s no point doing fractions if you don’t know multiplication. On a motorcycle, the consequences of a wrong answer are far more serious. The Great 2‑Hour Magic Trick This is bad for our business. Really bad. On a regular basis, athletic men with good balance learn from scratch and ride to side streets in just 2 hours. After more than a decade of motorcycle instruction, we’ve simplified our training technique to something close to a science. The instructions are basic, the steps flow seamlessly, and there’s minimal effort — for both student and instructor. Nobody else can get you riding this quickly. It really makes you wonder why. Us too. Some outside instructors have sent in “dummy” students, strapped on GoPros, and studied us from cars parked in the distance. We save lives, but we can only train a handful of riders at a time. In the spirit of sharing, this is an open invitation to all instructors, associations, research organizations, and government bodies: we will share our techniques. They’re simple and effective. Contact us — we love talking motorcycles. Our sessions are two hours each, and we strongly advise against doing more. Fatigue sets in, and it’s best to come back another day to reinforce muscle memory and clear up any doubts. Scheduling Reach out and book as early as you can. That said, cancellations do pop up, and we can almost always arrange same‑day or next‑day sessions.
