Overview
High Desert Driving School was founded in 1991 to fill the gap when public schools phased out driver’s education due to budget constraints and a shift toward state-mandated core coursework. As one of the first commercial driving schools in the region, we developed teaching methods and policies that many others have since adopted. We were early pioneers in offering online driver education, but we never compromised on the quality of our in-person classroom instruction. Customer service is our top priority, and we have built a strong reputation for reliability and personalized care. While some take shortcuts, we remain committed to excellence. Because safe driving saves lives, we treat this responsibility with the utmost seriousness. We intentionally limit our fleet to six vehicles to maintain close instructor attention and ensure the high satisfaction our students expect. Today, most of our new students come through referrals, a clear sign that they feel the training is well worth the investment. We proudly serve the entire Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys and bring over 25 years of experience in driver education and behind-the-wheel training. Pick-up and drop-off are available throughout our service area, and our programs accommodate drivers of all ages, including teens, adults, and students referred by the DMV for driver safety courses. After 15 years on Division Street, we moved to our current location at 829 W. Avenue J, Lancaster, CA 93534, where we have operated for the past decade. We remain under the same ownership, keep the same phone number (661.940.8835), and are conveniently located across from the former Park View Middle School, just east of 10th Street West.

Driver Education In-Class
Take driver education (classroom Instruction) through our California state licensed, professional driving school. Our driver education classes are held on Saturdays 10 00 am to 4 55 pm (Times may change for holiday classes) teens and adults should attend 4 days of class, our holiday classes are held consecutive 4 days see our calendar section for class dates. Our classroom environment is clean, well organized, and incorporates the use of visual tools to make learning comprehensive. Our owners / instructors are past presidents of (DSAC) The Driving School Association Of California. Driver Education courses are required to be conducted as prescribed by the Department of Education. Driver Education must consist of at least (30) 50 minute periods (25 Hours) of professional classroom instruction. (NO LESS THAN 4 DAYS). Anything less than 4 days of in class driver education for under 18 years old is illegal. You may call DMV Occupational Licensing at 1-916 229-3126 to report any Driving School that offers less than 4 days. High Desert Driving School and their instructors are licensed by the DMV. We carry liability insurance, are bonded and maintain complete records for DMV inspection. Our teaching cars are subject to inspection every 6 months. Instructors must pass qualifying examinations every three years or show proof of continuing education in traffic safety. See our calendar section for current class dates.

DRIVER EDUCATION ONLINE
Our online driver education program is an alternative to classroom driver instruction for the active teen or adult. We hope you will enjoy the convenience of our Internet based driver education program which you will be able to accomplish in the privacy of your own home, on your own PC, at your own pace.
