1st Mile Driving School

David is the operator of 1st Mile Driving School. A Chico State University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, he has lived in Chico since 1982 and has taught driver education since 1996 across four different schools in the North State region. His teaching experience spans a wide range of students, including young immigrants building their English skills, bilingual learners, and students up to 78 years old. Fluent in Spanish, David has long wanted to open his own school, combining the best practices from every place he has worked with his own professional and personal driving expertise. Together with his wife, Lesa, a state-certified residential appraiser, he has assembled a dedicated team of educators with over 69 years of combined driving education experience. At 1st Mile Driving School, we are eager to help you become a confident, responsible driver. Our goal is to equip you with lifelong safe driving habits so you never become a traffic statistic, while ensuring a high-quality learning experience with knowledgeable instructors and carefully selected training vehicles.
