Overview

Our driving school was founded in 1994, right after California stopped offering free driver education in public high schools. Bill Corliss, our founder, started his career as a teacher and coach in the Visalia Unified School District back in 1974, and he’s spent more than thirty years helping local students become safe, confident drivers. Before opening the school, Bill taught driver education at Golden West High School, led the district’s driver training program, and was an active member of CASE, California’s statewide driving association. He holds a specialist degree and credential in driver education and has also taught for AAA and the California State University system. When the high school driver ed program ended, Bill saw a real need for a driving school staffed by highly trained, college-educated instructors. Today, we’re still a proud family-run business: Bill leads all driving instruction, his wife Pam manages daily operations as CFO, and their daughters Cristin and Carli work alongside them as DMV-licensed driving instructors.

  • Behind-the-Wheel Teen Driver

This course is for teen drivers, under the age of 18 years old, who wish to be licensed before their 18th birthday. This is the six-hour DMV required course. The time is divided into 3 two-hour lessons. The permit is not valid until you have completed the first lesson with a certified driving instructor and therefore it is ILLEGAL to begin driving prior to the first lesson. CURRENT BASE PRICE $370 (credit card, cash, check, or money order accepted) Free pick-up and drop-off anywhere in Visalia/Farmersville city limits. Arrangements can be made for pick-up and drop-off in outlying areas for an additional fee.

  • Behind-the-Wheel Adult Driver

Because driving lessons are not a requirement for adult drivers, lessons are structured for the adult's individual needs. Each lesson is 2 hours in length and can be given on a single or multi-lesson plan. If you are an adult, over the age of 18 years old, and seeking behind the wheel training, please contact our Office Manager for registration (559) 798-5118. CURRENT SINGLE LESSON BASE PRICE $165 (cash payment). Free pick-up and drop-off anywhere in Visalia/Farmersville city limits. Arrangements can be made for pick-up and drop-off in outlying areas for an additional fee.
