Overview

Learn Dirt Bikes operates as a division of P&R Sports, which Phil and Renee Anderson founded in 1999 to host mountain biking and motorcycle events throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2004, the company expanded its offerings by adding the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Dirt Bike Course. All of our training takes place at Carnegie State Vehicle Recreation Area, located between Livermore and Tracy. We keep our class sizes small, with a maximum of four students per session. This allows for highly personalized, hands-on instruction. To make getting started easy, we supply loaner dirt bikes along with helmets and all required protective gear. Phil Anderson serves as our lead instructor and is a Certified MSF Instructor. He has been riding motorcycles since his father taught him at age seven, and by seventeen, he had earned the AMA District 36 Black Plate #2 in Flat Track racing. Phil later shifted his focus from competing to helping grow his family’s motorcycle business, which originally opened as Sand Hill Ranch Motorcycle Park in 1973. Today, he channels that extensive riding background into teaching. Known for his patience and strong rapport with younger riders, Phil has successfully guided over 1,000 students through the MSF curriculum. Renee Anderson is the owner and CEO of P&R Sports. She manages all business operations and class scheduling, and she works on-site during training sessions to assist both the coach and the students. Learn Dirt Bikes is dedicated to helping riders build confidence and safety skills in a supportive setting.
