Sweet Driving School

I’m Dan Conklin, owner, operator, and instructor at Sweet Driving School. I grew up in Lake County, and driver education runs in my family—we’ve been in the business for over 16 years. Before starting my own school, I spent seven years working as an instructor and office manager at our family’s driving academy. I’ve been teaching students across Lake and Mendocino Counties since 2012. Helping teens become safe, confident drivers is my top priority. That mission is deeply personal. In 2003, my sister lost her life in a car crash at just 17. She was riding in the back seat of her own car when a teen driver lost control and struck a tree in Kelseyville. Alcohol and drugs were not involved—the accident came down to a simple lack of experience. That tragedy fundamentally shaped my teaching philosophy and the way I approach every lesson. Since 2007, I’ve guided thousands of students across more than 30 cities. In every session, I stress the importance of lifelong safe driving habits, the responsibility of carrying passengers, and the real consequences of taking risks behind the wheel. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to help parents raise safer drivers, and thank you for trusting me with your teens.
