Welcome to ALOHA Driving School in Livermore, California! We’re DMV Certified (License #4146) and we genuinely love what we do. Every team member is Live Scan fingerprinted, and our female-owned school specializes in respectful, professional teen instruction. We offer DMV‑certified classroom and online drivers education, plus completely private behind‑the‑wheel training. For local students, we provide home and school pick‑up, and we’re fully licensed, insured, and bonded. ALOHA is a locally owned, independent business. You’ll find us at 1857 First Street in Downtown Livermore, where the Chamber of Commerce welcomed us with a warm grand opening celebration back in 2004. My name is Karen Murray, and I founded ALOHA because I saw a need for a new kind of driving school in my hometown. I grew up here, graduated from the same high school many of my students attend, and I remember what behind‑the‑wheel instruction was like more than 20 years ago—there weren’t many options to learn from a female instructor. That, combined with a lifelong dream of running my own business and working with young people, set everything in motion. I left my career in telecommunications and poured my energy into building a school where learning to drive is based on knowledge, skill, and facts, not fear. I dedicate a large part of my classroom instruction to the dangers of drinking and drugged driving, and the devastating effects of distracted driving. Keeping teens safe behind the wheel motivates me every day. I’m grateful to have taught thousands of local students, and I look forward to helping many more become responsible, licensed drivers. When you choose ALOHA, you’re in great hands. Every instructor is Live Scan fingerprinted and trained by our school. Together, our team brings over 50 years of combined experience. Beyond their credentials, they truly enjoy working with teenagers—which matters when that’s the primary age group we teach. Our staff includes school teachers, YMCA directors, coaches, former youth group leaders, and career driving instructors. They’re patient, thorough, and focused on one main goal: turning each student into an excellent defensive driver who understands the huge responsibility that comes with a license.   • Classroom Drivers Education

    This package includes the DMV required Driver Education instruction and the 6 hours of DMV required Behind-the-Wheel instruction. All certificates are included in this price. Classes are held at ALOHA Driving School in Livermore (1857 First St.). The dates listed are for classroom instruction ONLY. The Behind-the-Wheel portion of this package begins when Drivers Ed. is completed & the permit test is passed at the DMV. Drop off & pick-up for Behind-the-Wheel instruction is provided to in town Livermore students. All other students will meet at the ALOHA office.

  • Behind-the-Wheel Only

    If you have completed Drivers Education this package will work perfectly. This package includes the DMV required 6-hours of Behind-the-Wheel instruction with an ALOHA DMV Certified Driving Instructor (all ALOHA driving lessons are private & each lesson is approx. 2-hours). You can pre-enroll for this course but lessons are not booked until you have passed your permit test at DMV & have obtained your official CA DMV Permit. *For local Livermore residents we pick up at home or at school. For all students outside of Livermore you will meet and get picked up at the ALOHA office in Livermore for your 3 private driving lessons.

  • Online Drivers Education

    At ALOHA we understand that every family has a different schedule to keep. For some families it may be nearly impossible to fit classroom Driver’s Education into an already booked calendar. For this reason we created our own online school. Please note that this school is operated by ALOHA so we are the actual people who are notified when you complete the course and we will then mail out your DMV Certified Certificate. DMV Certificates CANNOT be faxed, scanned or emailed, you MUST only have Original Certificates when you arrive at the DMV so make sure to complete your Online Course @ least 10 days before testing at DMV.
