Overview
New CDL classes start every week. Our four‑week, 160‑hour course meets the training hours most carriers require for new drivers. Training runs Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
At Premier, we guide you through every step — starting with the written test. The first week is classroom‑based, focused on earning your permit. Our instructor uses DVDs, practice tests, and oral instruction to set you up for success. You’ll prepare for the three mandatory endorsements (General Knowledge, Air Brakes, and Combination Vehicle), plus four additional endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples, and Passenger). We recommend all seven — it makes a real difference in job placement. During that first week, you’ll also learn trip planning, map reading, driver logs, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and Operation Lifesaver (railroad safety).
Once you have your permit, it’s time for road and skills training. Our six‑acre range is set up with three alley docks and three straight‑back stations to keep everyone moving and practicing. Before you head out on the road, an instructor will take you to the shifting range to build your shifting skills.
